Together, We Create Welcoming and Supportive Communities

When you support displaced newcomer populations in need today, you empower them to thrive and support the next generation of Canadians.

About Us

Every donation, small or large, is a lifeline for newcomer families and individuals who have fled crisis and are seeking safety in their new communities in Canada. Your support helps meet immediate needs – such as temporary accommodation, food, groceries, clothing, transportation, school supplies, health and wellbeing. When you donate, you enable these families and individuals to rebuild their lives, thrive, and give back to their communities.

Together with our provincial partners, we regularly review and update priority needs to ensure that your donation goes where it matters most. We allocate donations based on available government data that shows the number of displaced individuals across the country, unless a donor specifies that they would like their donation to go towards a specific community or province. We collaborate with service-providing organisations who work closely with clients, ensuring efficiency in distributing donations to meet an urgent need.

We have made it easy for you to show your support.

Our Impact

Behind Every Number,
a Story

Since 2022, CHAR has partnered with all levels of the Canadian government to assist displaced Ukrainians and other newcomers in need across Canada under our former iteration, Operation Ukrainian Safe Haven (OUSH). We partner with an extensive network of local service providers Canada-wide who have direct connections with humanitarian arrivals who have limited access to support.
